Silence [Sessizlik]

From the tip of his pen to the depths of heart..

Since its release in 2018, renowned Turkish movie and TV star Engin Akyürek’s short story collection Sessizlik has been published into several languages. Now, readers in North America are treated to the journey that Silence (Sessizlik) takes them on, traveling to the rich culture of Türkiye – back to a simpler time. The characters in these stories get to know each other without digital media, face-to-face and understand each other by listening. In the backdrop of neighborhood streets, children playing together and tales of adolescence to aging, Akyürek expertly spins stories that keep readers on their toes until the very last syllable.
